Appliances, Energy Efficient and Household

Energy EfficientEnergy efficient household appliances are all the rage right now, and for good reason. It is no secret that the cost of energy is on the rise and has been for quite some time, and as a result, many homeowners are feeling their budgets become stretched very thin. And because major appliances such as refrigerators, washer and dryers, water heaters, and swamp coolers often make up the bulk of a home’s energy consumption, switching over to more efficient versions makes a great deal of sense. The hard part is often sifting through the possibilities in order to find the appliances that make the most sense for you and your home.

Welcome to ApplianceClub.com, your Internet headquarters for the latest in energy efficient machines for the home. We understand that homeowners today are being forced to find new ways by which to save money, and we believe that one of the best ways to do that is by making your home as efficient as possible. We have therefore designed our site for those that want to learn more about the world of modern household appliances and how they can help to lower one’s monthly utility bills. The information we provide is intended to be as non-biased as possible, and we do not endorse any particular company or product line.

The 20th century brought us a startling array of machines that were designed to make our lives more convenient and enjoyable. Items such as the refrigerator and the dishwasher were intended to make our lives easier, and to that end they were certainly successful. However, many of these machines were originally built during a time when electricity was relatively cheap, by today’s standards anyway, and as such, efficiency was not necessarily a top priority. And what’s more, for decades very little was done to improve on how they consumed electricity.

In today’s world of ever rising energy costs, appliance manufacturers have finally discovered the folly of these old designs and in recent years have begun making machines that are vastly more efficient. In fact, many of these new appliances use less than half of the amount of electricity of those that are just a decade old, which can add up to a significant amount of money saved each month. That being said, there is a perceived downside to these machines, and that is their cost.

At first glance, new energy efficient appliances are more expensive than their less efficient counterparts, but this is a bit of a misnomer. In order to make them more affordable to homeowners, government agencies on both state and federal levels offer a variety of incentive programs that can be used to bring these costs down a bit. These programs usually come in the form of tax deductions or rebates associated with home improvements that reduce one’s energy consumption. In addition, many retailers will also offer discounts on new appliances when they remove your old, less efficient model. These same retailers can also sometimes help you take advantage of the available government programs as well.
